The Huntington Library is one of the most beautiful historical gems of Southern California. There are numerous galleries featuring works of art as well as library with classic manuscripts on display ranging from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales to an unsurpassed collection of the early edition Shakespeare works.
The gardens provide hours of peaceful outdoor enjoyment, especially in the typically sunny weather of Los Angeles. Many gardens are decades old providing mature landscaping and beautiful large trees an foliage. Some of the best gardens include the cactus and succulent garden, the Japanese garden, and the rose garden when in season. A new addition is the Chinese garden which recently opened with a "pond-side" tea house and cafe.
The library and gardens are open to the public every-day except Tuesday and admission costs from from $10 for students to $20 for adults on the weekend.
