A iconic staple of the local scene, easily recognizable and distinguishable by any who visit, frequent, or are "in the know." Amoeba Music lies on the eastern edge of the Sunset Strip (one of the most prominently notorious portions of Los Angeles, whether in regards to the musical culture or not), just west of the 101 Freeway. The exterior is a bit toned down than that of the inside, not by much, and you'll see it from almost a mile away. They deal in all kinds of media, from vinyl and cd's, to laserdics and cassettes, with everything new and old in between. When visiting, or frequenting that part of town (as many of us locals often do), it should not be missed.
